DANE-ELEC MEMORY OUTPERFORMS THE MARKET AND BECOMES WORLD'S THIRD LARGEST

DANE-ELEC Memory declares excellent results - The Board of DANE-ELEC Memory approved the accounts for the year ending 31st December 1999 on 8TH March 2000. Sales showed strong growth at 1 845,6 MF (281,3 ME) an increase of + 57%. DANE-ELEC Memory has proven the pertinence of its industrial and commercial strategy and now ranks as one of the leading world players in its particular market.

Consolidated net profit amounts to 71,7 MF (10,9 ME), a bound of 157% compared to the previous year.

1999: a year of change in the Memory market - After three years of recession between 1996 and mid-1999, the Memory market started growing again in 1999, thereby putting an end to an historically long cyclical downturn. In this general context, the volumes processed by the DANE-ELEC Memory group have grown faster than the overall trend of the market.

Dividend: + 50% - The Board decided to propose an increased dividend of 3 F to the Annual General Meeting convened for 15th June 2000 ( 2 F in 1999), to which is added a tax credit of 1.50 F to give a gross dividend of 4.50 F ( 3 F in 1999).

Favourable outlook - All of the serious sectorial studies published recently concord on the prospect of three years of sustained growth in the Memory market (25-40% per year) as of 2000. At the same time DANE-ELEC Memory is at the heart of those activities created by the explosion of the New Economy. Within this framework, the objective of DANE-ELEC Memory will be, as it has been since the outset, to outperform the market.
