DANE-ELEC INCREASES MEMORY MODULE MANUFACTURING CAPACITY BY 30% Irvine, CA., November 14, 2000 -- Dane-Elec Corporation, USA, a worldwide memory manufacturer, today reports an increase in its memory module manufacturing capacity by thirty percent. The expansion is driven by significant sales increases from OEM and reseller channels. Dane-Elec’s 25,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility has 4 fully automated production lines and can produce over 15,000 modules per day. Dane-Elec uses Philips GEM series machines (Sapphire and Topaz). Topaz machines have a capacity of 14,000+ placements per hour and use fast "on-the-fly" vision alignment to place .0402 up to 32mm QFP (32mm square down to .5mm pitch) Sapphire is a dual gantry machine with 24 heads. It is placement rate is in excess of 24,500 components per hour. All component alignment is done with 100% x10 vision. Together, these machines make a very powerful combination. "Even though we have been seeing some fairly consistent signs in recent months that the manufacturing industry is slowing down, Dane-Elec has continued to have the demand for memory modules and Flash products, " said Michel Hassan, Dane-Elec Corporation, General Manager.
